Macassar

Macassar is a type of ebony found mainly on the island Celebes, in Indonesia, and to a lesser extent on the Moluccas.

The black-red striped veneers are particularly attractive. The shiny decorative texture is characteristic of this rare wood species, together with its ease of use for woodworking, which makes it suitable for planing, carving an polishing.
